Goleta is my home, where my husband and I are raising our two young children. I’m running for City Council because I am ready to lead our community forward. I’m eager to get to work securing Goleta’s future while confronting our shared challenges. Having served our community as President of the Goleta Union School Board, I know that as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, we can work together to support the health and safety of our community, secure our economic future, and ensure residents can continue living, working, and enjoying life in Goleta.

Luz Reyes-Martín
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As a proud Goleta resident, I’ve worked hard to make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community. I’m a parent, nonprofit executive, community volunteer, and environmental advocate. For the last eight years, I’ve represented the Goleta Valley and Isla Vista on the Goleta Union School District Board.
I am running for the Goleta City Council’s newly created District 1 seat because I’m committed to preserving the character of our neighborhoods, safeguarding our treasured open spaces, and delivering essential services to our residents. With experience working for public agencies and a Masters Degree in Land Use Planning, I will hit the ground running to seek input from the community and meet the needs of our residents.
I’m proud to be endorsed by many respected community leaders including Goleta Mayor Paula Perotte and Councilmembers James Kyriaco, Kyle Richards, and Stuart Kasdin, former State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, County Supervisors Joan Hartmann and Gregg Hart, and Goleta Water Board members Lauren Hanson, Kathleen Werner, and Farfalla Borah.
These endorsements demonstrate that I am the Goleta Councilmember local leaders want to work with to address important City and regional issues such as community services, the environment, and our local economy.
I have the energy, experience, and dedication to work with community members, regional partners, and our City staff to meet Goleta’s current and future challenges. I’d be honored to earn your vote!
